Legacy Park
As most of you are aware, the City has been working on a new 37 acre park (Cottleville Legacy Park). As you've driven along Hwy N, you've probably noticed dirt moving, playground equipment being installed, pavilions going up, and one large pile of dirt...wonder what that is. The large amount of dirt will ultimately be an outdoor amphitheater with an amount of seating in the low thousands. This will be a great place for movies in the park, plays, and concerts. Who knows who will be coming to Cottleville to play for you.
Overall the park will be constructed in phases. Once complete, the park will contain a dog park, basketball courts, football and soccer fields, a softball field, volleyball courts, childrens playground equipment from 2-12 and above, and a few multi-purpose shelters for family gatherings.
The park will be accessible via vehicle from Hwy N or Fifth Street around the new City Hall building. It is anticipated that the parking lot for the first phase will be completed in the early spring of 2009. The park will also be accessible by walking or bicycling from various neighborhoods. As the City continues to grow, multi-purpose trails will connect all the subdivisions to the park.
